Walks for reasonably fit people with at least a little country walking experience. May include unsurfaced rural paths, Steeper terrain, undulating and could be rougher underfoot and muddy.
Bear in mind the distance of the walk and the possibilityof bad weather, which can make a walk more difficult than planned.
Please be aware that all walks are taken at the walker’s own risk. Neither Probus nor the walk leader is responsible for any accidents that may occur. All walkers are expected to wear appropriate footwear i.e boots/stout walking shoes and wear or carry warm waterproof clothing. Bring along a drink and a snack.
If you have any doubt about your fitness for a particular walk please contact the organiser or leader in advance. Leaders may refuse to accept participants who in their opinion are inadequately equipped or unfit.
Dogs may be allowed on walks at the discretion of the leader and must be kept under control. Please contact the leader before the walk.
All walks are between 3 and 5 miles and generally take about 2 – 2.5 hours. Non Walkers are welcome to join the group for lunch, normally taken about 12:30 – 13:00.
