THE PROBUS CLUB OF KIDSGROVE
The EIGHTH YEAR – July 2003 to June 2004

During the year many activities of fellowship were enjoyed
A most varied and interesting talks were given on the following subjects:- Local Murders, Myths and Monuments, Presentation of Honour at Buckingham Palace, The Multi Ethnic Society of Malaysia, Ancient Egypt, Death Resurrection, The Gritstone Trail, Norway Cruise on the Black Prince, Fire Precautions, Paraphernalia and Plant Lore.
On 3rd September, a pleasant day out to Llandudno by coach was enjoyed by a number of members, partners and friends.
On 30th October to 2nd November, a coach party of members, partners and friends went to St. Brannocks Hotel, Narrowcliffe, Newquay, Cornwall, which overlooked Tolcarne beach, (this was the club’s second visit). The break included a pleasant day out to Plymouth with a tour around. This was an excellent bracing holiday preparing us for the coming winter.
On 22nd January, a good day’s outing was arranged by Peter Lowe to the National Trust property at Quarry Bank Mill.
1st to 5th March a spring holiday break for 32 persons by coach via Chester to The Evans Hotel in Llandudno. During the holiday visits to Betws-y-Coed, Snowdonia, Porthmadog and Caernarfon. A trip to Anglesey, Beaumaris and Llanfair P.G. On our return via Denbigh, Ruthin involved an interesting visit to Tweedsmill factory outlet and then the Horseshoe Pass and on to Llangollen. The Hotel provided varied entertainment each evening.
During the year seventeen most interesting walks were arranged (by Peter Lowe).
214 persons attended with an average of 12 people per walk.
