PRESIDENT’S REMARKS
Greetings Gentlemen to a new year. I hope you all managed some sort of celebration during the new year lock down period. I sadly have to report our member Norman Hart passed away this month and I’m sure you all wish condolences to his wife Ann and her family.
I am exercising with a walk around the streets of my home weather permitting and hope you are all able to do the same.
Let’s hope the vaccination plan will bring an improvement for us.
I am starting the year nominating a member for special praise again and this month I choose member Graham Brown.
As treasurer for many years, he keeps our finances well in check and makes sure our Probus payments are always paid on time. He even sends us social cancelation repayments from time to time. Although I’m told he sometimes needs a little encouraging to do this. “He-He”.
No matter well done Graham and keep up your good work.
Until next time keep yourselves and your families safe and well.
Regards
John Dunn.

PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION WINNERS
As you will know the competition was judged by our Vice President Victor. He said that the photos were a varied mixture and difficult to select a winner. He came to the conclusion that the winning entry had a sense of fun. In second place it was a simple take but has all the requirements of a good photo, the hills lead the eyes into the photo and it has the mountain as a backdrop.
The winner was Michael Lloyd
Second Prize: Michael Nield
Many thanks to the organiser of the competition Peter Lloyd. All the entries can be viewed on the Probus website.
SOCIAL REPORT
Following my earlier report, you will be pleased to know that despite wearing the masks in TESCO I did arrive home with Marjorie, but I was very fortunate this week for two gentlemen to whom I owed money did not recognise me wearing a black mask so I escaped unmolested and still have their money.
Talking about money the Manor House are returning our booking deposits so all being well members who paid will be receiving their money back.
Keep safe, keep well and keep smiling.
Ken Williamson
