PRESIDENT’S REMARKS
Gentlemen welcome to another hitherto General Meeting. This has not been a good month for me having been hospitalised for a week having a pacemaker fitted and almost 3 weeks self-isolating and recovering.
My thanks to all members who contacted me to wish me well. Thank goodness we had some sport back on T.V I could watch such as football – cricket- formula one as my favourites.
Great test match win – Liverpool crowned champions – Stoke City safe from relegation and Lewis Hamilton winning for the 8th formula one race in Hungary.
We made some proposals at our Council Meeting which are shown below.
My selection for special praise member this month is our Honorary Member and Secretary Michael Nield who works tirelessly to keep Probus records and information for us all.
Michael is a great help to me personally and has been to past Presidents over the years. Well done Michael – please keep up your good work.
Until we can meet again Gentlemen keep yourselves and families safe and well
Regards
John Dunn

SOCIAL REPORT FOR JULY 2020
Little to report again this month.
Sadly, the social evening with refreshments and Beetle Drive to celebrate John Crutchley’s 90th birthday will not be held at the Cricket Club on Wednesday 21st October 2020 due to the on-going restrictions of holding meetings due to the pandemic.
Hopefully the week-end break will be held at the Evans Hotel Llandudno on Friday 6th November 2020. Bookings and deposits are being collected by Frank Timmis.
Similarly, the Probus Christmas Lunch will be held at the Manor House Hotel Alsager on Wednesday 2nd December 2020. Menus have not yet been received but will be distributed when available.
Keep safe and well.
